WASSILY KANDINSKY
He heard colour. He painted music. He changed everything.
Kandinsky abandoned a law career at 30 to paint, believing colour and form could express emotion as directly as sound. He co-founded Der Blaue Reiter, taught at the Bauhaus alongside Klee and Gropius, and kept painting right up until the Nazis declared his work degenerate and drove him out of Germany. He's widely credited as the father of abstract art - though Hilma af Klint got there first.
His compositions are still some of the most joyful, vibrant works in modern art. They make rooms sing.
Privileged Prints: Museum-quality. Sustainably made. Unapologetically bold.
