A fine art print of Suzanne Valadon's The Abandoned Doll

Suzanne Valadon

She modelled for Degas, Renoir, and Toulouse-Lautrec. Then she outpainted them all.

Born illegitimate in rural France, Valadon worked as a circus acrobat until injury ended her career, then became one of the most sought-after models in Montmartre. Degas noticed her sketching and encouraged her to paint. Entirely self-taught, she developed a bold, unsentimental style that portrayed women as real bodies with weight, agency, and interior lives - something no male contemporary dared attempt.

She became the first woman admitted to the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. She was overlooked for decades after her death. She is unmissable now.

Privileged Prints: Museum-quality. Sustainably made. Unapologetically bold.
