He came to art late, abandoning a law career at 30 to follow what can only be described as an unavoidable calling. The art world's loss was everyone else's gain.
As a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter and later a Bauhaus master, Kandinsky didn't just make revolutionary art — he wrote the rulebook for it.
